I hope not as well! But you don't have to ask everyone, skip all that aren't doctors. And any that are male. And any that are blond or redheads. And anyone who looks like they are under 45 or 50. That should cut it down a fair bit.

We are west of Sonora by about 35 minutes driving time. Just two miles from Lake Don Pedro. The nearest small town is La Grange, CA. We love it here!
This last summer temps reached around 107, which is hotter than we are used to, but most days there is a stiff breeze from the west.
We love Northern California! Used to visit Anderson and Redding quite a bit. Last time we were there was for a "Revival Life Sty!E Conference" at Bethel Church. We loved it! Highly recommended if you think about such things!
We both grew up in Nor Cal, one in the Bay Area and the other in the Coast Range between Eureka and Red Bluff.

I haven't been in that part of the county in many many years, La Grange used to be nothing but a Post Office, don't even recall a store there but maybe there was. I went to college in Fresno for a short time so I used to drive through there quite often. It used to get foggier than foggy in through there but maybe you are on a hill if you have a view of the central valley. There were very few homes out there and a lot of corn and cattle and yes, it does get hot. I got a flat tire right outside of La Grange once and my jack sunk into the blacktop when I was trying to change the tire.

I know of Bethel Church, don't think you can live in Shasta county and not know about it. I have never attended church there but I definitely do "think about such things"

The area between Eureka and Red Bluff is beautiful country, at least I like it.

As far as rabbits I had thought about New Zealand or Californians but not really decided for sure. When I was a kid we just went down to a couple niebors and brought home a couple does and then went to another for a buck. I bet we didn't spend $10 all together. Wow! I have seen a lot of expensive rabbits on Craigslist! If anyone has advise On rabbits or a specific breed, I would appreciate hearing it.

La Grange has not changed alot. The area around it has built up a bit. Thirty five years ago we were trying to find the Lake Don Pedro dam so we could sit at the overlook and watch the city lights. We got lost and turned the wrong way, now we live on that very same road where we realized we were lost, gave up and went home. Amazing how things happen.

We went with Californians as that is what we could find. We started with 1 bred doe, and have 2 pairs right now. We only breed a couple of litters a year- our kids show them at 4-H fair. We also have French Angora rabbits as we are learning to spin the fiber- we have processes them too for meat- they are about half the weight of the Californians. We are hoping to have a few litters in the upcoming weeks from both Angoras and Californians.
