Greetings and welcome to BYH @Roxie goat homestead from NE TX! So glad you joined us. What breeds, ages? sexes? and of course, can you share a few pics with us? 
From your avatar, it appears you live in a "drier" climate, like desert southwest someplace? There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. You'll get to "meet" folks at the same time. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Oh, and we all love pics, so post them anytime you feel the need! Please make yourself at home!
PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me
will never remember from this post & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

Hi, MIss @Roxie goat homestead! Welcome to BYH! You will find there are a lot of folks here who love goats. There is Miss @babsbag, who lives near Redding, CA. She has a goat dairy, has a dry climate, and is fun to read. There is Miss @goatgurl in western Arkansas (which is where we are located also). There is Miss @B&B Happy goats in northern Florida. There is Miss @Carla D, who is located in Wisconsin. There is @Goat Whisperer, located in North Carolina, and a whole bunch of other folks that I don't know about. So dive in and enjoy BYH!

I think you found goat lovers in every region of the States. I sure do love my goats. I’m crazy about them. Pretty sad that they have finally reached a size and weight that has become too big for me to pick up anymore. But, that’s also a really good thing. That means they are finally gaining some much needed weight.

Hello Roxie. Welcome to our pretty amazing group of people in here. There are goat, sheep, cattle, rabbit, and chicken people. There is so much knowledge, humor, interesting people in here. Make yourself at home in here. I joined the group only a few months ago. I live in western Wi. I was crazy and impulsive and $5/head newborn baby bucks. Nine of them to be exact. I’m down to 8 because one of my young guys died at about two weeks of age. I knew absolutely NOTHING about goats. I knew they needed to be bottle fed at least four times a day. I had crisis after crisis with these little guys. Literally every day or two something new came up and I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t have survived the first three months without this group. I was literally considering finding new homes for them. You are in really knowledgeable hands. One word of caution. Don’t browse through @Mike CHS ’s journal when you are hungry. You’ll gain five pounds simply from looking at all of the tasty food he likes to share with us. He is also a really wise and smart person to have in your corner. There’s a lot of straight shooters, not mince words, straight from the hip type of people in here. But you can trust what they say because they are so matter of factly and don’t get shocked by anything, common sense people. Again, welcome to the group.

hi roxie, welcome to the group from Arklahoma.... glad you joined us. lots of nice folks on here with lots of knowledge they are willing to share. you do realize that you've already broken the first rule of backyard herds. no pictures, we always need pictures. now we'll have to figure out some sort of punishment, like pictures everyday for a week. again welcome to backyard herds and the wild wonderful world of goats.
