I would like to add some Angora's to my herd, but I have been told they would die and be more trouble than they are worth, because of our temps in West Texas. Just a couple, am I really going to kill some ? I know there is a guy who sells them a town away, I have seen the ad way before I've ever thought of owning goats or even knew what one was. Please give me the cons and pros, on the breed and my area. Thanks!!!

:thumbsup Thank you Rolls!!! Looks like I'm going to learn more and add 2 more to my herd in the near future. This is what I was looking for,but I kept ending up with for sale in other states, or cute pics (making me want more) on my searches. Your AWESOME!!!!

i just bought three white doe angora goats.
although i am in ohio, so i cant help on your area thing.
so far i can tell a big difference in attitude difference. they make my dairy girls seem like puppies. ha ha!
and they arent as hardy as other breeds of goats.

the part i'm worried about right now is shearing next month....
i have never seen an animal be sheared before and now i will attempt to do it. note to self: look up "shearing" on youtube... :p
