I am going to be borrowing a friend pygmy buck to breed to my 2 doe's, one being a pygmy and the other being a nigerian dwarf. how will I no when they are in Heat???
My does tend to talk more, and stand around on the other side of my buck fence and wag their tails. They have a slight discharge when they are in season. My goats are REAL sleeze bags when they are in season!
Some -- like my herd queen -- let you and everyone within a mile radius know they need something and need it NOW. Others, like my little pygmy, give you no signs at all. Your best bet since you don't really know that your does are in heat right now is to keep the buck until you see him mount them, then keep him for another three-ish weeks.
When you bring the bucks to them, they'll prolly start wagging their tails at them, sniffing their "areas" talking to each other....some like a little rough play and others want to be coaxed into it...
