Well, maybe greasy is a bit extreme but just the thought them sleeping in their urine and poo. I clean twice a day but the mornings are horrible! I'll try the dawn dish soap. I heard of someone else using baby wipes?
Goats are usually very clean, so they're not going to lay in puddles of urine or piles of poo. If you use bedding and it is fairly clean, they'll be fine. Stressing yourself out trying to clean their area twice a day is not worth it. If you enjoy it, then go for it, but refreshing their bedding when it starts to look or smell bad is good enough. I think washing them too frequently would do more harm than good. :)

a good grooming might help.. mine love love love to be brushed.. just with a cheap plastic dog brush.. it helps get some of the loose hair and dust off.. wondering if they are in an area where they getting sap or some kind of oil from plants/trees.. could your goats have angora in them at all?

I would use dish soap or baby shampoo. It may be too cold for that if you are up north though, it's already too cold for that most days down here. I use baby wipes for cleaning udders I would guess it would be ok to use those. You could try a horse curry comb & good brushing followed by a wipe down with baby wipes?
That sounds like a plan. I'll wait for a warm day,if we ever see one again. Ugh!

Yes. That could be.

Haha...I do that too...clean all the time. While I do find goat berries in the sleeping area, they pee in the corner away from the sleeping area. I find that they get 'dirty' more from laying on the dirt than in their sleeping area.
