My kids named all of our current rabbits. We have a lop named Floppy, a Lionhead named Sox, and an unknown breed named Apple. Our buck that got out was a Lionhead named Cinnamon. I have picked 2 kits from our current Lionhead litter to keep, but I have yet to name them. How do you come up with names for your rabbits?

We have Emily, Clara, Violet, Willow, and Hester and one little boy who's been without a name for quite a while now because the right one hasn't presented itself.

Color and personality play a factor . . . for example, Violet is a broken lilac, so I picked a color/botanical name in the purple-violet family and Willow is a broken blue, so I picked her name from the Blue Willow tree. I like to give them "real" human-type names, so sometimes it takes a bit of thinking to find one that also fits them. All of my animals have human names, though. There are some exceptions, since I'm waiting for the right rabbit to name Strawberry, a name I wouldn't give to a child: )

well that's a good question, i name mine a few ways. before we moved my rabbitry was alot bigger and i had to come up w/ alot of names it got to be really hard so i had to find different ways to name them. so they get them after my favorite flowers, first name pops in my head when i look at them, a few are food names or gem names cuz of their colors. i prefer more human names to be honest so i also look up baby names on the web sometimes that helps too. i like rare/unique ones too. once in a great while the kid's will name them also.

some of mine are- jazzy, ginger, prince holden, princess kolani, tiarra rain, lauren, poppy, starletta, jarin, marlin, cashmere. diva rose, heaven's scent.

It will vary on how they are named. If I draw a blank, I let my son or niece come up with a name. So our Buck is Dominic and our Californian cross is Smudge (due to her brown nose).

Big Mama got her name because she's well, big and she's a great mama and is very calm. And besides. I love the movie Fox and the Hound. Oreo is because she's black and white spotted. Like cookies and cream.

Two of the babies that we are keeping are called Runt (because he was the runt from Big Mama's litter of nine), he's becoming a pet. And then there's Snip, who is a doe we are keeping, that has a little white mark on her ear.

I pick out cute or meaningful names, or I do the parent's names or middle names...
Or names I think are pretty or really like :)
