Hi, all! Tuesday was the "official" end of 2024 Calf Season on the ranch where I work. The bulk of our calves, 260 of them, loaded onto trucks and moved on in their journey. This was my third time shipping calves at the ranch. The bittersweet surrender of the babies I've raised, fed, protected, and loved for the past 8-10 months is always more bitter than sweet.

I had time to say goodbye to the steers before we started penning them, and I recorded it and made a little video. I hope you like it.

260 calves! That’s a lot! Congratulations on a job well done to bring that many to sale.

We lost very few calves on the ground this year. It was a bumper crop. Best year the ranch has ever had.

There are 42 heifers and 9 steers left at the ranch. I get to keep a heifer, so there will be more videos.
