I had 3 bred Nubians... One kidded on Thursday (Day 151) twin girls :)celebrate), one kidded yesterday (Day 152) triplets- 2 girls and a boy :)weee), and we are still waiting on the third... Today's Day 155... She's a second freshener, so her bag has started to fill, but nothing huge yet, her backside is starting to open up and her belly is starting to drop, but she's looked like this for the past 3 days! I thought she was going to go Friday, and now we're going on Monday night! What's the deal?? Last year as a FF we found her baby in the barn and her out in the pasture eating when we got home , and she didn't want to let her baby nurse. Once we got them together for a little while she turned out to be a great momma. So due to all that happened last year, we have been penning her up at night, and letting her out in the day time when the weather is nice. But with her on Day 155, we penned her up during the day and let her out once we got home (after work) after finding no babies. Still no signs, no strange behavior, no noticeable udder growth, nothing... WHAT'S THE DEAL??! :hu We had a buck (with a marking harness) run with them for 45 days and she was bred immediately (we marked the date) and it didn't seem like she came back into heat at any point during the 45 days he was there, so I don't think my dates are off... Could it be that she didn't settle right away and she's still a week out or something?

Oh, and I will post pics of the babies ASAP... gotta get them loaded to the computer first. :D =D

Just for interesting comparisons, the two mommas that have had babies these past couple days are twin sisters and their udders are completely different!

The triplets were born Sunday afternoon. Look at the size difference between the buckling and the runt of a doeling lol he was 5lbs 15oz and she was 3:10. She looks TINY!!

Around my place anything before 155 is rare. I had a doe go to 161 a few years ago so I would say all is well at your place.

Cute kids, my next batch is due to start next week. Better catch up on my sleep now.

Oh man... Thank you @babsbag for reassuring me! I had one go at 156 last year but I thought my calculations were wrong. Glad to know it's not unusual. She is getting more and more moody, her back end is getting more and more loose, and with my limited experience with ligaments, it seems that they are mushy (compared to my non bred girls). She did have a drop of goo back there this morning, but when I came back to feed it was gone. So who stinkin' knows! She's penned today with lots of food, water and straw. Hopefully she will find that a nice and comforting place to kid. :hu She's gonna stay there till we get home from work though, because we just got some rain last night and it is a muddy mess out there. Knowing her, she would find the perfect mud pit to kid in :th

Day 158! Finally! Twin bucklings, unassisted, no issues this year. Kidded in the barn, stayed with them, cleaned them up, and both were nursing when I got home. So much better than last year! Pictures to come!
