Most all dairy farmers figure 6 milkings or 3 days for the colostrum from cows. There is no "legal limit" here, I have seen milk from first calf heifers go in the tank on the second or third milking. Not my style.... But again, you need to look at it. Sometimes from first fresheners, goat or cow, it will look more like regular milk after 2 or 3 milkings. I try to wait for 3-4 days on the cows. And also, some cows will have blood in it due to the pressure on the udder and the small capillaries that break in the udder. It's not that big a deal unless it is really red. It can be fed to the calves without any problem but naturally I wouldn't drink it. I don't have goats but the principles are the same. There are enough goat farmers on here that they ought to be able to give you all the guidance you need.
