How many generations to include in pedigree (if less than all)?

Selling my first pedigreed rabbits. All the templates I've found only provide space for 4 generations and I can't figure out how to add more.

I assume that selling an animal with pedigree means the ENTIRE known pedigree on both sides. If not, how many generations should be included?

Related question: any suggestions for free templates or freeware for creating and maintaining pedigrees?

A 4 generation pedigree is what's normally used.

As for programs, I use kintraks, however I bought it, I'm not sure about any free programs.

3-4 generations is typical for all animals. The longer it goes, the more paper you need and the less influence each individual has on the genetic makeup of your primary. You really can't fit 5 generations on a standard letter sized sheet of paper.

I use software called The Breeder's Standard (I have the dog edition--I was in Labradors for about 8 years) which was $120 at the time, but you can even use Excel or Open Office to create printable pedigrees. I don't have rabbits, BTW, just trying to answer questions that I know the answers to

A three or four generation is normal. Once they breed them, they will add on, there's no need for more than 4 unless they are wanting to know if there were any odd colors or out crossing, etc.
