Ridin' The Range
This weekend I am picking up a doe with 2 4 month old kids and a buck.
How soon should I worry about seperating the buck from the kids?

x2 I will add that generally they are fertile @ 8 weeks or so we take no chances they are separated @ 8 weeks sometimes sooner.n.smithurmond said:They are already old enough to require separation. Your 4 month olds are capable of getting bred but certainly not ready. Congrats on your new herd!

Yep, I'd lute them to be safe...it's rx so you'll need to get it from a vet.20kidsonhill said:You could get the vet to sell you some lutalyse and treat them to abort, just incase. They would be awfully young to have babies. The lutalyse wouldn't hurt them any. and they if they are bred they couldn't be that far along.
More than likely they aren't bred, but it can happen.
As in the buck is related to the does. Well it isn't really a problem if you don't mind them being inbred.porkchop48 said:Oh my.....
They are 4 months old now and still together? What should I look for when I get them home on sunday? I will be seperating them as soon as I get home.
After they get old enough I would like to be able to have them all running together, is that going to cause a problem with them being related?
