How to cut back on milking

I have a saanen doe i've been milking for the last 3 months.I want to stop with the pm milking,as I am only getting a pint each milking. Can I stop the pm milking cold turkey or how do I need to do it without causing lilly(Doe) any problems.

Since she is giving so little, you should be able to quit one of the milkings and go to once a day with no consequences....except she may complain about the service, and loudly.

I agree that you can probably just stop the night milking but, since I'm overly cautious about such things, I'd still skip tonight, then milk tomorrow night, skip the next night and after a week of that skip two nights in a row, milk the third night, skip two nights and then just stop milking at night completely. But... that's just me.

The same thing happened to us last year, and we just stopped the evening milking "cold turkey." They were fine. The odd thing was, that then we started getting about a quart for the morning milking--double the regular amount. So, we were still getting the same amount, and only had to milk once!! It was great!
