Hey Ya'll!
I have doe, kisses, who I would like to show in the future.
She is very friendly, but I have one problem. She does not totally "Trust" me.
She will come to me, wag her tail, and walk on a leash fine, but if she was confronted by something/loud sound she's
not use to, she freaks out. She will panic and run. She still has "Predator and Prey" stuck in her head. She's o.k. with the sound
of a helicopter when she's home, but outside of her "Comfort Zone" she hates the sound of a helicopter. She's gotten used to a variety
of sounds inside her home, but when she hears it outside she freaks out. When my dog, dixie, gets nervous she sits on my lap and puts
her head under my arm. She knows I'll keep her safe from whatever she is nervous about. Kisses thinks she has to get away. She doesn't know
that I'll lead her to safety or protect her. I want to show her, but I don't know know how to fix the "Predator and Prey" instinct. I want her
to be comfortable with me in the show ring. Any advice on how to make Kisses relax and perform in the show ring? She's a great doe and is a quick learner.
Should I pursue training or try to start with a bottle baby so that the bottle baby is comfortable with me and trusts me??? Advice is greatly appreciated.
