We decided we are going to pull Rachel's kids and raise them on a CAE prevention program. The only catch is that I have heard it is very hard to heat treat colostrum without turning it into pudding. I have read about using a thermos or heating it in a "multi-cooker" with a temperature dial, but I am sure there are many other ways. I was just curious, how you guys do it without ruining the colostrum? Thanks!

Is it frozen or refrigerated? Warm it slowly. I usually have it stored in a bottle. I put the bottle in a bucket of hot water and let it warm. I may have to put hot water in the bucket several times. The important thing is you do not want to kill the antibodies in the milk by over heating.

We don't have the colostrum yet, she is due March 30th. How do you maintain the temp. of the colostrum at 135 for an entire hour while dipping it? Do you use a crock pot or anything?

Also, is it possible to milk Rachel before she kids so the colostrum will be ready sooner for the babies?
