Would anybody on here be willing to give some pointers on how to price Nigerian Dwarf kids? Their parents are registered, and the babies are registrable, good milking lines, but nothing fancy or from champion lines. The idea is really just to try and make enough to pay for feed, meds, vet, and bedding so my family can reap the benefits of fresh, raw goat milk.

What you'll need to do is work out about how much it's costing you for feed, meds, vet and bedding over the period of time it's taking for the baby to be born and weaned, then price your babies that way. I have a small herd of 8 goats and can tell you exactly how much I have spent in the last three months ( December 3- March 1) and it is $183 (give or take $10) TOTAL for all three months (that total price includes Hay and feed until June, when my last baby is due) . So with that knowledge, I know that I have to sell the first baby for at least $183 (give or take $10) (that's not trying to make a profit, just breaking even and enjoying fresh goat milk). I was taught to keep (somewhat) meticulous records on all my animals so I know exactly how much they are costing me and exactly how much I am making off them, so here's the breakdown of it all (my spending in the last three months)...
