We had a little buckling born here Thursday morning. I can already feel his horn buds...is he too young to disbud? I want to do it asap because we waited too late, I think with our last buckling, and he has really bad scurs.

Can I disbud him...like, tomorrow? And if I do disbud, should I give him a CD/T shot? I was wrong about due dates, and his mother got her CD/T shot about 1.5 weeks before kidding.

You should be able to disbud now, I had a kid this year born w/ very obvious horn buds. I did his at 2 or 3 days! Youngest I've ever done, but I didn't want to wait to long.

I've done kids as young as 2 days *if* I felt they were ready.
For me, it depends more on their strength / vigor than age.

Thanks Karen! I just bought some yesterday to have on hand in case of Floppy Kid.

What would an appropriate dosage be?
