Well we named him Dr. Jason Bull after the TV show. As I said he is in with the goats and the baby goat that is about 1 1/2 week old is climbing on top of him and playing on him like he his her own personal playground. I will post pics once I figure out how to do it.
He will be meat eventually but we are having too much fun with him right now

Yeah that is what I am afraid of. Me making friends. It's hard to eat a friend.
I would like for him to get a girlfriend but that will have to be down the road a bit.

I have my soft spots too. I have a 30 year old Tennessee Walker mare that I haven't been able to ride in 5-6 years. She still eats her head off, but she can die right here. Then I'll have to address the problem of what to do with her... People send old horses like her to slaughter because of what to do with a 1200 pound dead body. It costs more to dispose of them than what you can get for slaughter, but I just can't put her on a truck to Mexico. I promised her long ago that I would never let anyone ever hurt her again. Dunno what happened to her in her past, but she is closed up, distant, I have never been able to draw her out of what ever dark place she retreated to. I've had her 20 years.

I have an old hen with a bad attitude, she is 7 years old. I butchered the other 5 I bought at the same time as her, long ago. I probably should put her down, but just can't bring myself to do it.

We have ole Gilbert. He's a charlie lop eared mutt. He is a good breeder and the kits get big, but he wasn't intended as a breeder. Initially he came with the cage. My wife didn't want him butchered, so put him to use while waiting for a Jr NZW buck to mature. Can't really keep his offspring as pets or breeders for fear they carry the broken genes to be a charlie too. But, I do use him as a breeder for variety, and it cheers him up. ;)
