I don’t think Vaseline is the best option. It could make him sick.

Vaseline is just straight petroleum jelly; it's the main ingredient in lots of cat hairball remedies. The whole point is to create a barrier to keep moisture (especially urine) off the skin, allowing it to heal. IMO, the simpler the product, the better (and both Udder Balm and Bag Balm have antiseptics plus other ingredients in a petroleum jelly base).;) I'd be much more concerned about a rabbit ingesting one of those products than I would be about Vaseline.
