I was out cleaning rabbit pens the other day.
I apparently was not paying enough attention to how I was using the hose because I hit one of the dropping pans which caused a whole wash of dirty poopy water to splash back up to my face and worst of all get in my eye.
Now I'm wondering just how long it will take to manifest into a trip to the doctor.
I don't suppose this has happened to anyone else.

Gross but I have a grosser story from yesterday.

While processing the goats, I had Drew hold the green tripe while I emptied it. I was bent over about face level with it and Drew shook the tripe to "help" me...so I got green tripe juice in my eyes, mouth and all over my face. I just looked at him like "w t f why would you do that!?"

Nastiest taste ever.

When one of my kids tells me, "you have flour/mud/blood/etc on you", I usually just calmly say, "if that's the worst that happens to me today, I'm doing well."

It's gross (dealing with animals often gets gross); you will probably be fine.

Fun stories. I just spent my morning cleaning out chicken and goat houses. I decided it was a good idea to take all my dirty stuff off on the porch before coming into my clean house. Just cleaned yesterday for all the holiday festivities.

That has happened with me with chicken poo. They had roosted above the water bucket and it was FILLED with poo. I was washing it out and the spray from the hose shot it directly into my eyes. Eye infections are the absolute WORST for me, I can't stand it. Luckily I have an old bottle of tobramycin so I put a few drops in each eye and was lucky enough to escape infection. If I were you, I'd rinse your eyes out regularly with salt water/saline solution. Bacteria can't live in saline so it may help prevent infection. I feel for ya, good luck!

Great idea Harbisgirl. I will do that.
I have some clear eyes on hand. Its for animals but should do okay in a pinch.

Your exp. def. trumps mine

I would still be traumatized.
