It's official... I'm a goat herder now!

OK OK so its a small herd. But still... its a beginning!

A lady is moving and had to sell her entire goat herd. Well I certainly wasn't in a position to take ALL her goats, but she did offer me one heck of a deal so I came home tonight with 1 boer doe and her buckling (both white with red hoods), 1 red boer yearling doe, and 1 alpine doeling. I'll try to post pictures in the morning.

Congratulations!

A small herd is still a herd and a good place to start. :)

Congratulations! I agree, and a small herd is a great start. Get your feet wet first, and then you'll find yourself adding more and more as you go along.

Pictures as promised:

This one is my boer doe: I haven't named her yet. For now she goes by "Momma"

This is her buckling: I named him Billy. He is 2.5 months

This is my boer yearling. Her name is Comet. I'm looking for a black headed herd sire for her and Momma.

And this is my alpine doeling. Her name is Galaxy. We call her Gallie She is approximately 3 to 3.5 months old.

And this one of my herd all together checking out their new pad:

So who wants to help me name "Momma"? I'm trying to name all my does with names that has something to do with astrology. Comet, Galaxy, things of that nature.
