I had a similar situation, but it was my lab, the kid slipt out of the pen into our main part of our yard, I noticed my lab hadn't come to the house for a while, and when I went out to see what was going on, she had the kid licked all over, but by that point had drawn some blood on the kids ear and chewed off almost half of one ear. The kid did fine, but I was worried about the lab becoming way to interested in the baby goats, but everything has worked out just fine.

Great news about the little guy! One thing is certain about goats ... they WILL find a way to get into trouble and we just do the best we can to prevent it. We are constantly learning as we go, so don't beat yourself up about what happened. And I do like his new name!
