The Diary crosses to Nubian or Boer often still come out without the roman nose. Our Reg doe is half Saanen and half Nubian and no Roman nose...our alpine x boer/nub kids no roman nose either. i wonder if thats not a dominate trait....

misfitmorgan, perhaps you already know this but airplane ears is a description on the ADGA paperwork for registration. It usually denotes a mixed heritage though. In essence the ears are too big to stay erect. In terms of the goat in this thread I would say airplane fits.

The kid does look a lot like my Toggenberg/Nubian mixed kids over the years. At least the ones where the Togg coloring shows the most.

Haha nope i didnt know that at all, thank you for the info. Guess i should really stop calling them airplane ears then lol.

Usually "airplane" indicates some Nubian lurking in the gene pool.

My Boer Alpine crosses have a little straighter nose than the Alpines but no where near what my purebred Boers have.
