What are you considering a medium size pig? Are you going to keep them until fully grown or are you going to butcher them at "xyz" weight?

A Berkshire is a nice big pig breed and would serve you well in the slaughter department around 10 to 12 months at no more than 250 to 300lb which is a desired slaughter weight for most.
They will grow much more and can turn very fatty

We use 5' x 7' Porta Huts here & three LARGE pigs can fit into them so that would be plenty big enough for two. Porta Huts are sturdy & you can often pick them up used on your local Craigslist.

Are you planning on moving your 16'x16' pen? 10-12 mths is a LONG time to have them in that small space. Pigs, despite what folks think, are naturally clean animals but when kept in a small space have no choice but to be stinky. We raise a LOT of pigs here (Large Blacks) & you will rarely ever smell pig poop but that is because the pigs are out on pasture 24/7.

We have never raised Berks so I have no idea what they are like.
