So i have been doing some research and am thinking of getting 2 lamancha goats? cause you have to have two...

we currently have 2 miniature horses they would be pastured with would they get along? we are trying to sell one of our minis and the other will need a buddy so we want some goats for a buddy and for milk and cheese production.

we where told that lamanchas are great goats.

what do you think? and what do we need... we currently have 3 string electric fence for a 1 acre pasture..

please help me cause i am trying to figure stuff out.

And then you'll have to breed them and then you'll have four or more...

You shouldn't have a problem. But always remember that individual personalities vary and play a huge part in how well they'll get along.

Every one of them that I've met have been fantastic. I just got a cross last night and he is very friendly and sweet.

what do you think?
We're a bunch of enablers here...that's a loaded question!

Depending on how good your pasture is will depend on how long it will sustain 2 goats. Rule of thumb is that you can have 6 goats to one acre (that's standard size goats).
Get with your county extension agent to help you figure out what is in your pasture and what you can do to improve it for your goats.

Most goat farms that I know that use electric use 5 strands. That said the 2 goats that I brought home last night came from a home that used only 2 strands. I use field fencing solely right now.
