Thank you everyone for the nice welcome! I already have a question:

How active is this forum?

It's pretty active. I lurked here a long time before joining. I read lots and lots and lots of posts. Even after I joined, it was 5 years before we moved and I finally got sheep. We lived in town, I kept chickens in the back yard and gardened in (ahem) flower beds in the front yard.

You may think that because you have chickens, that you don't contribute much and that is some stinking thinking! If you have a dream of having other animals, this is the place to learn all about them. We will be happy to answer any questions that you have.
