Got almost all of the babydoll fleece done. About 3 days of on n off work. Would of been less if I hadn't been picking out vm constantly.
I think it may of been the mix, idk. 🤦🏽‍♀🤔
Got a bit that's too gunky with lanolin. So, it'll be rewashed n finished later.

Found a mill in Ohio that charges flat price, includes all steps from incoming to finished yarn. $32 per pound. Shipping both ways is extra.
That's lots better than the previous numbers of the Va mill, which was $50~ per pound.
And the Wva mill was...$24. Oh, guess if her prices are the same for this year, I'll have her make lots of sheep & alpaca yarn for resale!

Ugh. Glad I never did! That one sale, to my brother, has been all that's sold in 4yrs!

I don’t mean to barge in on the thread...but this whole process seems like an awful lot of work!! Is it very profitable? I’m trying to keep up with those figures, but they read like Chinese to me, since I don’t have sheep, at this point. So, you shear...then separate, then comb, then wash? I would imagine an awful lot of wool is needed to make up a pound. How many sheep do you have? If you have good clippers, and get the gist of it after awhile...how long does it take to shear? Ok, I’ll let you get back to it. The yarn is gorgeous!! I used to knit...back before farming!

Profitable.....Only sold one, so, no. Definitely not. I don't have the energy to constantly push product.

Finished the 2023 Seadra fleece fully, tuffs, then carded the leftovers that were too messy to brush out.
Going back to the Corriedale fleece to card it's leftovers now.

All the seeds & vm I plucked out of the Seadra fleece. Adds up, 10 hairs at a time with a piece of vm.

Now, onto the black/gray fleeces!
There's 3 of them to do. Much, much smaller boxes of them. Hoping they'll go by faster...
