We knew she was in trouble but our vet said he couldn't find anything causing it other than just old age. She has always tested negative on all tests. She was 13 and hadn't been fed properly by her previous owner that just used her as a kid mill. Luckily for us we still have her full sister who wasn't so determined last fall to get pregnant. She is full weight and in beautiful shape and we are breeding her the first week of November.

We have a 10yr old doe that we got with our 2 wethers 2 yrs ago...she is the black goat in my avatar. She is retired and being spoiled thru her final yrs. She was a real handful when we got her, but she is a little sweetie now...they were pasture goats and meat production...so, we think of it as rescuing her from a bad ending....not that we are against eating goats, but they were thinking of trying to breed her 1 more time, but her last one was oversized and still born....so, we took her to help teach us and the Boys about being goats....we had never had any before them. We are really glad that we did, because she has taught us volumes....:)

Sorry you lost her but from what you described, I'm sure her previous life before you, took time off her life expectancy. You did well by her and I'm sure the last portion of her life was much better than the beginning. You have her doeling to remind you and carry her memory forward. Best of luck with the sister doe and I hope she gives you beautiful kids.
