Hi everybody!
Just introducing myself on here. I have been reading through many threads the last couple weeks and finally decided to join in.

So a little about myself I guess. I live on a small farm in Nebraska. Up until a month ago we only had horses. In December I made my way down to Kansas and got a trio of Babydoll Southdown Sheep. Growing up we had milk goats and black angus beef cows, so the sheep are a new adventure for me. Learning how to handle the sheep has been quite the adventure so far.
My current plans for my herd are to breed for conformation and fleece. Babydoll are known to have very fine fleece. I plan on picking up about 4 more sheep this June.

Welcome from Ohio! Sheep are great, looking forward to pics! Do you know how to spin, or are you planning on learning?

Thank you for the greetings. :)
It has been really fun getting to know the sheep. They come up for carrots or treats. When I first got them they would run from me like I planned on killing them. Only one is still very unsure of me, I have named her Shy Girl. The name is very fitting.
I will definitely have to post so pictures of my girls tomorrow. I didn't even think about that. ha

@norseofcourse I don't know how to spin yet but would really like to learn. I am a knitter. My grandmother taught me when I was little. Do you spin, if so what type of wheel do you use?

@secuono I love them so much already. My favorite one I named Honey and she does this over the shoulder look that just melts me. Honey is the sheep in my avatar picture. How large is your herd?
