@norseofcourse I don't know how to spin yet but would really like to learn. I am a knitter. My grandmother taught me when I was little. Do you spin, if so what type of wheel do you use?
I am a beginning spinner. I got an upright-style wheel from Craigslist, an older one, and learned quite a bit on that. Last year I also got a Louet, and it frustrated me till I left the drive band on for awhile to stretch it out some, so it didn't pull the fiber in so fast. I nearly feel ready to start working with my own sheep's fiber.
If there is a yarn shop near you, there may be spinning/weaving/knitting groups. Or a fiber guild with a local SCA group (sca.org). Most spinners love to help people learn, you may even be able to try out some different wheels to get a feel for it. Good luck!

Another big howdy and welcome from the Great Lone Star State, where the stars at night are big and bright! Grab yourself a beverage from that there table and come over and sit a spell, prop your feet up and chat animals with the rest of us.

I have goaties and am quite partial to my girls, nevertheless those BabyDolls are just too cute. Looking forward to hearing your adventures! Glad you found us.

Well I know I was asked to share some pictures of my girls. I braved the swampy conditions to get a few pictures. We are currently deicing only to get more cold weather this coming weekend. Brought my aussie with me as an assistant. He was no real help. The whole time he kept nuzzling under my arm for a pet.

Here is my favorite,Honey. She is the friendliest of the bunch.

This is Shy Girl the smallest of the trio. She tends to follow Honey around everywhere. The other girls will eat out of my hand but not this girl.

Ollie posing next his girls. He is really great with them. He didn't show any herding interest in them till the other day I jokingly said "go get them" and he started chasing them. I called him off and he came back and continued to be very polite to them again. Sidenote: Freckles is is the one with the dirty looking face. She is currently dealing with some orf. We vaccinated the other girls under the armpit. So it is just a waiting game at this point.

I thought this was so cute. Shy Girl is terrified of me but has no problem getting kisses from Ollie. I should be taking notes from him.
