J clip pliers are the devil (vent)

Ours are all Makitas and we always buy the same brand so the batteries and chargers work. My next addition will be an angle drill. :) I have corded tools too, just in case but other than the corded circular saw I seldom use them. I had to build a sloped floor in the dairy and needed to rip some 2x4's for bracing under a sloped drain and the battery one just couldn't rip 12' of 2x4. I didn't want to use the table saw as the boards went for 3" to 0" in 12' so I freehanded it with the circular saw; easier to get that angled cut.
That would be a 1.193° angle. Angle fences are usually calibrated in 2°. Set your adjustable fence at 2° and I bet it would be close enough.

If there is an angle fence in my DH's shed I have never seen it. He buys the tools and then I end up learning how to use them. Now I have to go in search of this adjustable fence, that would be so handy to have on hand. I didn't know there was such a thing.

So what exactly does that do? Is it like a protractor that measures the angle? I looked at pictures but I don't get it (but I know we have one now, lol).

Makita's are nice. We have some corded tools but those are mostly mine - when hubby and I got married, he had all kinds of wood/household tools, and I had a huge toolbox full of automotive goodies. So between us, we have one of pretty much everything. Except a kreg jig, those are too expensive for me to justify.

I bought a Kreg jig for pocket holes as I was going to build a curio cabinet. Now to find the time to do that.

The adjustable rip fence would allow you to rip boards with an angle. So lets say your nesting boxes wanted a nice sloped side you could figure out that angle and set the fence accordingly and rip them all to match. I understand the concept but have never seen one in person but it would be a great thing to add to my arsenal. I always do angled cuts with the circular saw. Now that have all of my sloped floors done I find out about this accessory. :th

Oh cool, I did an angle on my boxes, but I had it drawn out and ripped it out with a circular saw. Not as easy since I realized after the first long cut at an angle that I had to re-approach from the side because circular saws don't turn! I think a jigsaw might have been a good investment for this kind of thing! Those things are pretty awesome.
