I would do the same just reband the little fellow. FYI-- deworming has nothing to do with cocci. Cocci is a seperate issue.

Sorry, totally skipped over that in the original post. Have your vet to a full fecal to check for all types of parasites. And if you're in the clear go ahead and start a cocci prevention plan. You can do a search on here - there are lots of threads on cocci.
