This week I have been adding more strands of hot wire, a bit more motivated now because there was a fox that visited last night!
Back side of the critter yard has boards and some mesh fencing with 5 current strands of wire, put in the insulators for two more lines. The right side of the yard has chain link and only had 3 lines, now there are insulators for 6 strands total. The front section has 8 strands now, hooked up and hot. They are 4-5in apart all the way up, with the closer spaced wires near the bottom. This front section is totally bare, other than those hot strands, thus the obsessive amount of wire. Left side of the yard now has 7 hot wires, 3.5in at the bottom, going up to 6in at the top. This side only has 6 strands of barbed wire on the outer side and the hot wires on the inside. Higher wires are set to be between the barbed wire.
I will also be upgrading my energizer to an AC 5 joule one. The solar 0.5 joule will be a back up and be moved to hook up to my pony's yard in the mean time. The new energizer will also be used for the pig fencing. I really hope I can train them to respect the new charged fence, they ignored the 0.5 joule one...
Another random thing, saw my ram attempt to breed my ewes, looks like I'll be having a similar lambing time frame like last year.
Anyone else upgrading protection or just fixing up loose ends before winter hits?
