Alfalfa being bad for wethers is an old wives tale, folks.

Alfalfa has the ideal calcium to phosphorus ratio to avoid UC, unlike grass hays.

I think we will put up some timothy for the winter and a few bales of alfalfa in case it gets really cold or , we get alot of snow again! I will by then also have a milking goat.

Thanks for that Helmstead. I tried earlier, to read some info. online, but most was technical crud that was over my head (offical studies, etc.). I'm done w/ college - no more of that crud. :)
