Just tried my first goat milk

Yes 1st time I ever tried it. It was awesome. Gave some to my daughter and she said it is warm. I told her it just come out of the teat what do you expect. But she liked it too. I might have to look into some dairy goats. I want more. I was afraid to try it at first. I had to milk her some cause the baby will only drink from one teat. The other is 2x the size of the other. So I will keep milking her from that one 2 or 3 x a day. If she will hold still. Sara does not like it. If that is to much please let me know.

Glad to hear there are two more goat milk lovers out there! I, personally, don't like warm milk but I LOVE it cold.

You are doing the right thing by milking out the non-nursed side. You only need to milk it twice daily (just like if there were no kids nursing on her at all). Have lots of patience with Sara - she should get better on the milk stand pretty quickly and learn to stand quietly for you to milk. Sometimes a goat will just be a problem on the milk stand and then you need to ask and get ideas on how to stop her bad behavior.... usually it's just a matter of a few days or couple of weeks with both of you getting to know each other and what's expected of her.
