Then you drenched her and not tube her. That's great!

It will probably be a few days before she's back to normal and her milk production may not come completely back to before the ketosis.

Have you assessed what caused her to go into ketosis ? You may need to increase the protein in her diet.

Just a note, when tubing down the throat you will get an unmistakeable stench comming out from the tube. Unfortunately I have too much experience tubing cows and calves. Its the worst thing to do I swear. You can also blow in the tube, and if her belly, NOT HER RIBS/LUNGS inflates your alright. Its a tough judgement call though, so it's best not to have to do it at all. I'm glad the drench worked and another jersey lives yay!:bun
