A Mini Silky is a mix between Nigerian Dwarf and Tennessee Fainting Goat. The Silky's may or may not faint(mine do not). The breed started in the early 2000's so it is still in development. They are known for their long silky coats. Mine are not the extreme type. If you want to see the look they want in the registry books go to MSFGAregistry.org. They are beautiful goats.
These are old pictures, I will get some recent ones.

I guess this would have more properly been a new/separate thread. Maybe @Sumi can move this portion and create a new thread for silkies? Are they like angora goats? Can you use their "fleece"/hair for spinning/yarn? Are they used for meat (fainter) or dairy (Nigie), or just pretty lawn ornaments/pets? Not trying to be insulting, just curious. Thanks for sharing the pics! They're pretty/handsome animals.

They are mostly for their looks. :D =D. They are great pets. They are built like pygmy's. I have not tried much to see on the milk part because when Belle had her first surviving kid, it was new to her and her udder was sore. I think she only let Anna(kid) drink from one side because one side was always empty and the other always full. I am waiting On both Belle and Anna's new kids to arrive. Anna is a first timer. I knew she was pregnant when I felt her starting to get an udder. Then I saw kicking in her side. On Monday Belle started stretching her back about three times in an hour and then I saw Belle do it one time yesterday. I don't know how long they do that before they have the kids. I have only had two successful kiddings. My story is on my profile. The waiting is driving me crazy.:caf:barnie.
