Ridin' The Range
Wellllll, okay, they are out in their hutches. But I am so excited to have baby bunnies! We have two litters due in 2 days (Champagnes, really excited)! One of those does was nesting last night
This litter is 2 week old Giant Chinchillas. We had 7 in the litter, but lost two "clingers" (what we call the ones who cling to momma and get out on the wire)
This litter is 3 week old Giant Chinchillas. There was only 3 in this litter.
Those litters are kinda small, but more than I actually expected. My main giant chin buck went sterile from the heat last summer, so I bred them to a new boy I had got. He is a little older, and kinda lazy, buuuuut really big and typey. I only saw him get each girl once since it was warm when I bred them. He would try and breed and then lay down FOREVER. So once he got them once I called it good. I am so glad they both took! The one who had the liter of 3 has smaller litters usually anyways (averages 5), the other doe is her littermate who always has 7-10. Go figure
