My doctor told me, years ago, “ You are pregnant, you are not an invalid.” I took that to heart and went on doing the things I wanted to do.
Yeah, but I am trying to be good. The Dr told me I wasn't supposed to be picking up over 25 lbs. Well, munchkin 1 weighs at least 30 lbs, and the stuff I carry to/from the car on work days is probably pushing it close to that, especially now I have my go bag backpack packed.

I have been doing a lot of stuff lately that has my mom and hubby scolding me. But if I don't do it, who will?? Oh, just ask hubby? Yeah right, I have been asking him to do stuff for months, no action, but as soon as I start working on it, suddenly he was going to do it in just an hour or two. It's like his memory resets, and the thing I asked him to do on Monday, or whatever, doesn't exist as a task to be completed unless I ask him every freaking day. But if I ask him every day I'm nagging him and being unreasonable.

At least hubby did get the bassinet out of storage and assembled. So that's prepped for munchkin 2. Still need to get the rest of the baby stuff down and make sure it's clean. We are almost ready for him to get here. I just ordered a new toy for munchkin 1, so he gets something new and fun in case he gets jealous or upset about the baby. I think he'll go bonkers for it, it's a good sized push train with two cars and the engine. Plus two little people that fit inside and a book that tells a story about the train and people.

It's a guy thing.
Ya' don't have to be preggers either --- I had a bent gate that needed to be fixed or replaced. He said he could weld it - it would be great practice --- 4 months ago. Guy we got it from said - I'll give you a new one no charge. Had it 3 weeks sitting close to where it needed to be put. I did it by myself on Monday. We're putting in a new corral on the other side of the barn -- had the panels three weeks -- I kept saying it needed t-posts because the sheep would rub and move the panels. I got the confused 'you are crazy look'. I did that by myself on Monday too.
Trust me - it's a guy thing.

Hubby says there was a doe and fawn in the garden when he got home. He chased them out and tried rearranging a few things to make it harder for them to push in under the gates. I think we are going to have to put some sort of backstop on the gates and make them one way only, to keep the darn deer out.

Packages got delivered today, so I sprayed the whole perimeter when I got home and set up the anti deer stakes around the squash/pepper/tomato side of the in ground zone. I didn't realize when I ordered the stakes they had to be right on top of the plants they are supposed to protect, and within 4-8 feet of the other stakes. I also gently spritzed the anti deer spray on most of the plants the deer have been chomping. Hopefully it will work. The blinky eyes are set out to charge, instructions say they should charge two days before installation, and they need to be moved every few days so the deer don't get used to them.

I've been slow getting out of bed in the morning for the past week or so. This morning I didn't realize it was already past 8, I could hear munchkin 1 talking from his crib, usually I'm up by then and have given him a morning bottle. Then I heard a thump and the pitter patter of little feet. He was so proud of himself, such a cute little stinker! He climbed up into bed with us and I got his bottle. He drank half and now wants to play with toys.

Today's goal is to finish getting all the stuff out and ready for munchkin 2.

Made a big dent in reorganizing the kid room (the boys will be sharing, at least after munchkin 2 graduates from the bassinet) and putting away stuff that isn't needed right away. Still a lot of stuff to pull out and make ready, but ran out of oomph and realized it was lunchtime. No wonder I was running out of energy.

Hubby looked out the back window and spotted a doe on the outside of the garden. I ran outside in my socks and yelled at her, plus threw chunks of firewood at her. One may have landed near her head. She finally took off across the field. Darn deer.

I harvested some figs from the garden, the tags say the dark ones are Hardy Pittsburgh and the light ones are Desert King. They both taste good to me, but munchkin 1 wasn't keen on the texture.

So far, I've harvested figs and basil from the garden this year. Someday I'll have a successful garden with lots of fruit and veggies.

Nice looking figs! I’m finally getting some figs off our trees - Diana (yellow outside and yummy), an unknown/mark (yellow outside not so yummy) and a Tiger (yellow and green stripes on the outside and very yummy). Figs are months late this year. Glad we’re finally getting them.
