Chillin' with the herd
I have 2 nubian does, both almost 2 years old. They are both due to kid for the first time within the next 2 weeks. The past few days they seem to be laying around ALOT. They're both eating and still going out to graze, but they're not nearly as active as they use to be. To top it off, they're laying in the barn. They never use to lay in there, that's where I put them at night, but now they're going in their pen and stall without any prompting. They're just coming out a couple hours in the morning, then going in the barn till about 3 or 4 in the afternoon, coming out and grazing till about 6 and coming back to the barn for the night. Is this just because they're getting so big and pregnant they don't want to stray to far from home?
I must say, they are really big and their udders are really growing...when their milk does come in, it's going to be a sight!
Thanks!
