She is a Lamancha mix breed, we know she has nubian, possibly kiko and possibly Saanan. She is quite the character lol
Thats good to know, we did just open up the other pasture which has a slight bit of forest fenced in; that could be Fluffys problem.

She appears to be back to normal thankfully, but just to be safe I am going to be keeping an eye on her.
I think the limping was because of the vine. If she does get an infection what antibiotic should I treat her with?
Look at using LA 200, it is an oxytetracycline and if you read the insert paper that goes along with it, it is good for the treatment of shipping fever and other respiratory maladies, keratoconjunctivitis (pink eye), hoof rot,....... This is a wonder antibiotic! I went to a seminar a few years ago specific to meat goat and hair sheep producers and the research veterinarian stated that he drenched the feet of goats/sheep with hoof rot with LA200 after trimming the rot and cleaning the affected hoof. I have used this technique with wonderful results. Penicillin is a way over used antibiotic and has limited effectiveness for hoof problems.

Thats good info goatboy.
I will def. keep that in mind next time I am treating hoof problems.
I live where most of the time it is not that cold and it is very wet. As you can imagine it gets to be a nightmare keeping feet healthy.

Goatboy, have you considered doing a "things that have worked for me" page under your profile? Where your website etc is. Like a My page...
I really liked your post about the urine scald prevention and this would be great for quick reference. I know for me I will often remember who posted the info but I cannot always find what I'm looking for when doing a search. It is also so much easier to refer others to the info also. :)

I will work on this. Thanks for the kind words. I am so glad that I can be of assistance to my fellow "Backyard Herdigans".

I don't understand how to do this. Do mean for me to add a "Things That Work For Me" page to my website and link it to my profile on BYH?
