I have a 27 year old llama Eli. He was doing fine until yesterday morning. He was laying on his side and posturing his head and neck backwards. We were able to get him into a cush then got him on his feet. He quickly went down and back to his side. He is up to date on all his shots. Doesn't look injured. No wheezing or burping. He doesn't even look like he is in pain. He just looks tired and sad. He won't eat or drink either. Do you think he is just dying of old age? or is there something I should try? I really feel like he is just waiting to die. Any ideas?

It sounds like old age. About all you can do is supportive care. You sure did take good care of him with him being 27. :hugs

He is having seizers now. I'm hoping he goes in his sleep tonight. If not I'll have to put him down. Thanks for your support.

We had to put Eli down today. He was starting to look like he was suffering.

At 27 years he is at the end of his life expectancy so all you can do is make him comfortable. He may pull through but he has lived a long time.

God Bless
