I have a 6 mth old Shetland Ram living with my Pygmy goat buck and Alpine buck. I just recently separated the boys from girls because they where getting to the age I was concerned about them breeding. My ram was raised with a ewe of the same age and when they were together they where inseparable. My Ewe seems to be adapting better to being separated because I have another hair sheep that she now hangs with, while my two alpine girls stick together. Should I look into getting another male sheep? Either a ram or a wiether? My ram just seems so lonely the goats don't really ever interact with him and tend to hang out with each other and leave my ram on his own.

I swear its like goat/sheep high school they all have their own little clicks and my ram is the odd one out. :hu

A wether would be much easier management-wise than a ram.

My shetland ram has a wether companion and they seem to be pretty happy together.

It took a while but my ram is part of the herd now. He seems perfectly content now it just took awhile.
