Looking for some help...

Do you know if he ever got colostrum from his dam?
If at one week he had scours and now respiratory and breathing rapid.

What is the vet saying?
Whenever they give you any medication you need to ask what it is for , why it is being given, what is the diagnosis.

Did the vet listen to his heart? Any detectable heart defects?

What is your weather and what environment do you have him in.

Was he ever checked for coccidia?
Well the vet said it's proubley pneumonia. And no I haven't him checked for coccidia yet band the weather here is up and down one day 80 and the day 50 and rains a lot if it's nice outside I'll try and take him out for a little bit just to give him exrise and would I treat him with probious now or wait till he's better....

And no I don't know know if he got colostrum from the start he came from a bad place in my eyes. Sorry...

Not very experienced in goats, still learning myself, but any time I have an animal showing signs of problems, I like to give probioticts.

I had a young goat die literally overnight this spring and his partner didn't look good and had low temperature. I brought him inside, gave probiotics, warmth and love and he pulled through

Do I start that now or wait till his meds are done I'm not very wise at this and have a lot to learn thought I did all my reading but guess not

Hopefully the more experienced goat keepers will chime in on this, but if it were me, i I'd start the probiotics now. In my opinion, they never hurt.

My boy actually started to come for them after a day or two. I used the stuff in a large syringe thing I got at tsc, since that was all I could get quickly. He sucked that stuff right up.

But I'm still learning, as well.

Thank you for all your input it is surely welcome....

On the probiotics thing...it should be okay to give while you are giving the medication. But, the very nature of an antibiotic means it won't do a lot of good. Because the medication kills both good and bad bacterias. But, it shouldn't hurt anything if you do give probiotics.

I do, however, give probiotics once the antibiotic is finished. ie. if the medicine is a three day, medicate each day, then I give probiotics on the third day then for a few days after to re-establish the good bacterias.

So far, when the vet is here to disbud kids she has been pleased with the results I get. And, we've been aquainted for almost 10 years now.

I think you will discover what everyone else has discovered too. Goats share at least one trait with children. There are a lot of good and okay ways to do things. And always more to learn about them. I guess that is actually two traits....

Well took him to the vet at 930 and now he has passed away in front of the vets office aftee been seen what now I will miss that kid very much...... But I have oneore question. He got a brother and seems to be totally fine will he need a buddy to live or will he end up going too
