I think you have it covered. It should heal up, it might leave a split. At least she saw it, you took immediate action and it didn’t split the whole ear. So console yourself with that.
Make Oreo a hat or halo or something to cover that ear for the costume show. I’m guessing the ear tag must be seen? Tag other ear, let it hang out of the hat.

Too late to stitch ear together, but you can use Steri Strips instead. Make sure it doesn't get infected. Once it is completely healed, you can retag.

I wouldn't use hay nets from now on since it is too easy for ear tags to get caught in them. Our sheep take a twisted delight un ripping out their ear tags. 😈 Now we tag closer to the head.

On the way to the vet with Misty. I checked at lunch since I did an unlock and run this morning. She has a big cut down to the meat on her front shoulder. 😭

She was up and walking till I haltered her. Then Bruno got out and spooked her. She reared up and kicked me in the face. Then the trailer popped off hitch and hit me in the shin. Happy F'ing weekend too me.

We got a ton more rain starting at 4am and going thru 10am. So didn't get to the sheep show. 😭 we have a wire floored utility trailer with cattle panel crate. Not in the least waterproof.

This is what it looked like an hour ago. No clue how many more inches of rain we got. Thankfully there is still a little dry dirt inside shelter for Aria and injured Misty.

At least there is a dry spot. Congratulate yourself on that, you have put in a lot of hard work. Is there any way to trench water away from the barn?

My poop soup slop last January-February, trenching wouldn’t have helped. The land is flat, nowhere to drain it to. The place in the front field I want to put a 3 sided shelter is low. The whole field is flat. So I’ll bring in dump truck loads and build it up before I start building.

You might have to get a load of dirt to put in the barn.

This is after trenching by hand last year! Better trenching and water control will require renting equipment. My plan if we keep this barn or the future barn is gravel + stonedust.
