You can still test, just advertise that you do codon testing. You can tell people which ram lambs tested what.
Codon testing is genetic testing for different things. There are different codons - scrapie is the one Margali wants to test for. Sheep variant of mad cow. Hardly any cases in US but some people want that gene in their sheep - rams in particular.

My lovely littles helped clean the barn. They did the raise section ~8'x13' by themselves before tiring. I've been informed Dominic needs his own GREEN shovel.

28 days till Gatesville event! April 1st I will evaluate who all the lambs and wean. I'm leaning on taking one of the ewe lambs Vanilla or Cocoa as well as 2 rams.

So this years ewe additions would be 1 home grown registered, 1 percentage from @Baymule and 1 from unrelated registered herd. That would give me 9 registered ewes and 3 percentage ewes.

Sell some, make hay and feed money. Scraping up enough for hay is always a problem for me. As much as I’m trying to build my flock, I may cull a few this year. I may let some of the first generation go. I’m excited to see what I get from the ewes about to lamb.

Selling a few will help you with feed money or fence money.

It's all a balancing act with a touch of fortune teller thrown in just for fun. I'm building the flock and then looking at how fast the hay goes. Learning, learning, guessing and learning. But- ya' know, sure beats watching soaps and eating bon bons :ep
