2024 Review
Tons of babies born this year. Life on and off the farm has been utter chaos.

• Livestock Guardian Dogs
  • Hera passed from old age.
  • Leo failed as a LGD and is now a family dog and massive headache.
• Spring Predator Attack
• Adult sheep
  • Cassandra got Scarf from @Baymule
  • Sold registered ram Mr Snickers and
  • Sold 3 registered ewes to @KodeshAcres
• Lambs
  • 2024 lambing - 17 lambs born
    • 3 died before weaning (1 stillborn, 1 eye/infection, 1 heatstroke?)
    • 2 lost to predator attack (wether, 2402 Vanilla)
    • 3 ewes retained for breeding (2410 Coconut, 2411 Socks, 2417 Gell)
    • 1 retained ram lamb (2415 Albus)
    • 2 registered ewes sold (2406 Cocoa, 2416 Gywnn)
    • 6 sold for meat
  • Sold registered ewe 2302 Cinnamon to @Baymule

Took some pictures of the flock. I think 2410 Coconut is looking much better. I will evaluate before May sale but I think she will be staying.



BRR2309 Scarf is also looking good confirmation wise. Kept her fluff from last year, we’ll see how she shed out this year.

Coconut looks good, I’d keep her! Nice long straight back, smooth hindquarters, she’s nice!

Scarf is shaping up well. I love black sheep, not crazy about the burnt brown. Baby fuzz is maddening.

2025 Look Ahead
Jan 19 - Feb 25th Spring Lambing.
Hattie LPH21, Mocha BTX2238, Aria BRR1901, Shy Lady LPH07 are almost certainly bred. Potentially Scarf BRR2309 and Coconut GWR2410. They were 9months and 5months when Snickers started the season. I separated them ASAP,

Feb 15 - Feb 17 San Angelo State Fair
March 3 - 5 Houston State Fair
Mid March show string for July lambing.

May 9-10 Texas Sheep Field Day Gatesville
Mid May - Mid July Ram in for Sept - November lambing

June 9 -14 Midwest Stud Show.
This is very tempting as an opportunity to see how my sheep stand up against others. It is also fairly close to my folks in Illinois.
