I am interested in getting this little guy when he is weaned in June. His dam is 38" and his sire is 32". They are asking $400. Does that sound reasonable? Tell me what you think.

Nice-looking animal. Maybe a shade on the high side for price, but I'm in Michigan, all livestock here is cheap now!

Pet? Driving? Guardian? What do you plan to use him for?

Well, he will be with the goats, so his main job will be a guardian. He'll also a pet, of course.

I've never went looking to price a donkey, but I've seen Donkeys in local advertisement papers; years ago I'd see them priced at $500.00 each, but recently I seen an ad for a mini donkey for $250. Alot less than previous years, probably due to the economy. Adorable tho. :) Love those too big ears he'll have to grow into, looks so fluffy & soft, what's not to love. :thumbsup

So are you going to get him? :)
I'm trying hard. I have a deposit ready to send, but I need the hubby's approval because he will have to help me go get him. (I can drive our straight drive truck :hide)

Just get a blanket and some baling twine, you'll be able to get him home in the backseat!

Blanket on the seat, loosely tie front legs together like hobbles, put children in the back to keep him company!

It's how I get my goats to the vet, although last time I didn't have to use hobbles!
