Well, I caught him in action!! The doe who had twin bucklings Thur night was standing there as he nursed one side to the other , then her boys came and nursed . Glad she's got a lot to give!!

You should have seen him when I called him for the bottle . He came right over but, no bottle! I'm fine with it but have to keep watch next couple days. They were sleeping all 3 in a pile this morn. Adoption is a wonderful thing!

My group of ewes currently with lambs, are the darndest things! It’s been a free for all at the milk bar. Lambs with good moms, with big udders, run to suck another ewe when her lamb sucks. Some just randomly suck whoever is closest.

TODAY 12/21/24....kidding began! Surprise.

Yeah, thought I had 2 more weeks but, ya know how these things go! Did chores, in for coffee & breakfast. While the herd was eating & chewing, I went to fill water tubs. Heard this screechy blare. Then still. Maybe a bird? Another yelp. No, that's a kid cry. . Start looking. There's a doe I knew I hadn't seen at haying -- cause she's always out on the yard!! Laying in a shed....alone? Then, the sound!! Little one in front of her, hidden. Dry. Jumped up. Afterbirth hanging....gotta move ya! Run and fresh bed a waiting stall. Add water, hay, feed and move them. It's a girl. FF mom.

Pics in a while....just checked both. Her milk is in & baby nursed well when I put her there. Belly was already good so, family is fine. Mom was a triplet & bottled. Both are full Boer. It's a good day!

Uhhhh...17 tonight!! Glad it was early, warmer.
