Mini rex buck... what color?

I just got this lil mini rex buck given to me but I'm not sure what color he is, I'd appreciate some guidance pls I was thinkn maybe blue but idk

It looks a bit different than other breeds because of the short fur and lack of guard hairs.

That makes sense... what wd be a good color of does to pair him with? We're considering buying a couple. Right now I just raise californians & new zealands because if they don't sell they go in the freezer but I've had some interest from a local feedstore & even a pet store for pet breeds so we're considering givn it a try

If you are trying to breed for show, the only "safe" color would be another chin. You could breed him to a lot of colors and get showable colors in the first generation, but by the second generation, there could be a lot of "what the heck is that??!" unshowable colors.
