So, while I was at work last night my boyfriend forgot to feed my five week old buckling. I was furious :rant Other than being famished when I fed him this morning and again this afternoon before I left (usually only feed twice but was afraid he may forget again) is there any other thing I should be worried about? Am I being to hard on him?

I don't think one missed feeding will hurt him. Give your bf a kissy, and tell him he is still a good goat daddy. ;)

Keep an eye on your buckling for the usual signs of illness, but I'm sure one night of no food will not hurt him. Lots of people lock the kids away from their mom's at night so they can milk momma in the morning, so the babies get no food all night, and they do fine.

He'll be fine. Mad and hungry, but fine. Don't double up or anything.

We went out of town yesterday and were 2 hrs late feeding our kids. I could hear them screaming when we pulled in the driveway.

Do what my mother did to me when I forgot the feed the chickens one night. Send him to bed with no dinner. LOL Maybe tell him he needs to feed the baby before he eats.

At 5 weeks old he probably has access to hay and maybe grain, right? If so, there's no problem. A 5 week old should be getting some good nutrition from solid foods too. :) No harm done.
